These days many of us have GPS systems in our car which mean that we may not need a map. But there really isn’t a GPS system for your Martial arts business. If you want to make real money from your martial arts school then you need to have a marketing plan.

So what is a marketing plan?

A marketing plan lays out in specific details how you’re going to grow your business to the level that you want.

A marketing plan states what marketing methods you are going to use and how you are going to implement them.

One of the easiest ways to create a marketing plan is to work backwards. Decide how many students you want for your school. Then determine the amount of exposure you will require in order to get that many students.

If you just offering private martial arts tuition and you only want 5 to 10 students a week your marketing plan will be significantly different to a school that needs 300 to 400 students in order to be profitable.

When you first starting out and maybe a little bit difficult to know exactly how many responses you will get from a particular marketing effort. This takes testing before you get it right. That doesn’t mean that you have to go without a marketing plan however. It just means that over time you will improve your marketing plan and have a better idea of what your key metrics are.

How to Create a Marketing Plan, Some Marketing Ideas.

Let’s take a simple example to see how this would work. For example to get 5 to 10 new students interested in your school each week you might need to do the following

  • Deliver flyers around the local neighborhood three times a week
  • Hold a demonstration class at the local community center twice a month
  • Place advertising in the local newspaper once a week,
  • Run Facebook ads and Google ads with a $10 a day budget
  • Spent half an hour each Friday creating a new blog post
  • Spend one hour every Sunday submitting to local directories.

If you follow this simple marketing plan you are able to hit your marketing goals.Of course this is just an example of a marketing plan and highly simplified. As you try out different marketing approaches you will find that some work for your neighborhood and some are less effective. You should be cautious about people who say that there is one right way to market your Martial arts business. The fact is that some approaches work in certain markets and others work at other times.

But the basics are fairly simple try something that has the proven to work for other people to market their business, if it works do more of that thing, if it fails put your marketing resources somewhere else. That’s why you don’t was spent too much money will too much time on untested method until you are sure that it is actually effective approach for your Martial arts school.

Promotion is the key to building a successful martial arts school. Make sure you have a marketing strategy in place and that you follow through it and review on a consistent basis. Evaluate the results and then focus on the methods that work best for marketing plan to help grow your martial arts business.
