Tip #1 – Keep it simple

The the famous advertising copywriter Robert Fleege once noted that “An ad is finished only when you no longer can find a single element to remove”. Try to keep to the minimal amount of text required to get across the message that you want.

A good flyer will have no more than five lines of text and will use short, punchy sentences about your martial arts school.

Tip #2 – Leave the whitespace

The whitespace are the areas of your flyer with no text or graphics. Whitespace is important because it makes other elements stand out. If you don’t include enough whitespace the flyer will be difficult to read and it will look crowded. More is not always better with a martial arts flyer.

Tip #3 – Include a call to action

The call to action tells the customer what you want them to do next. Do you want them to call your school or would you like to fill out a form on your website?

If you don’t tell them exactly what they need to do next there is very little chance that they are actually going to do it. A call to action should be found at the bottom of your flyer next to your contact details.

Tip #4– Stick to one or two images

Too many images will distract from the main advertising sales copy on your flyer. Stick to one or two images which reinforce the message of your flyer. A good image will often either show the benefit from using your school or that problem that your customer is having.

Tip #5– Write A Great Headline

  • A great headline makes all the difference the effectiveness of your flyer marketing. A good headline will draw the reader and grab their attention. The flyer headline should be no more than one line and contain about 5 to 6 words if possible.
  • Remember if the headline doesn’t grab their attention then they’re not going to read the rest of the flyer so it won’t matter what you say or how great your martial arts school is.
  • Finally if you are delivering flyers yourself remember that consistency is one of the most important elements of success. Set a regular time each day when you will deliver the flyers.

Cost Effective Martial Arts Marketing

Flyer marketing is one of many ways to market your martial arts business.  It is a cost effective marketing tool and should have a place in your marketing strategy and business plan.
